“Seva”​ goes by various names and is performed in a variety of ways. CHYK Bay Area sees community service as a natural extension of the lessons and teachings discussed during Study group and Vendantic education. The practice of serving the Chinmaya Mission community as well as the world around us connects us to each other and emphasizes value-based living.​

The Seva team has dabbled in various service projects and activities such as:
-          Hosting and running a series of Bone Marrow Drives to register more South Asian donors
-          Making lunches for the homeless
-          Coordinate the annual CHYK camp
-          Provide creative direction and manpower for the Annual Om Run and Om Mela event
-          First Aid and CPR training
-          Bonding with the Junior CHYKs over next-steps after high school
-          Responsibilities in maintaining the Chinmaya Mission Center and Bala Vihar
